I thought I'd give a little more insight on the workings of our castle. In our patent, we have designated several areas to be used for certain purposes but I'll give you the basic rundown of buildings and plans.
We will have hunters shacks for those who wish to hunt game on our private acres. We will have cottages guests can stay in as well as cottages for staff. We will have, of course, the castle with Lord & Lady Rooms, Peasant Rooms, and Honey Moon Suites to stay in. The castle will also have a kitchen, our offices, a dining hall and a ball room (for special events). Our chefs will have their own gardens and will prepare Medieval meals. Our Merchant's Courtyard will have (among other things) a coffee shop (Star City Coffee), a bookstore, a boutique, cooks, and artisans. We hope to have a black smith, a tailor/costume shop, craftsmen (King Liam, Margaret), and possibly a tatoo shop (Troy). It's possible we'll have a stained glass artisan. In addition to many people being in our castle, we intend to have horses, swans, peacocks, and more on the grounds for all to enjoy (separated greatly from the hunting grounds).
We also intend to have Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, 4-H, Junior Acheivement, Special Education, and school groups visit the castle to learn about Medieval times. We will ensure that our vendors and actors are educated in the craft and can share their knowledge with our guests.
If you have any suggestions for funding, please send us a message or respond to our blog. It never hurts to have a large financial safety net.
